the first post!

Yo!!! This is the first post on my new website! I programmed this thing all by myself! Well, not really. I forked it from the NextJS SSG Blog Starter on Vercel's website. But I changed it up so much and added so much additional functionality, and all these pages, and all this design, and all these functions and stuff... that this thing has effectively become mine.

I didn't actually write this post in the first month of the year 1054 anno Domini like it says up above. I wrote it in January of 2024. But I can change the date to whatever I want, so I just made it that. It's hilarious.

I've long wanted to port my old website into NextJS SSG. I just never got around to it, because I'm a busy man. But I've gone and done it now. It took a long time, but it'll be so worth it, because now I can make posts like this. And also update my site more easily because I've refactored a bunch of stuff and made it more maintainable. Woooo. It took a bit longer than it should've, I feel. Because I was doing all this coding with a wrist injury which forced me to work more slowly. My left wrist got injured somehow someway a few weeks ago and hasn't healed. I've visited the doctor a couple times and gotten an x-ray and they're still shaking their heads. We don't know what my wrist's deal is. I hope we can figure it out soon, because not being able to use my left hand to do anything without pain fucking sucks.
