damn, it's been a minute since the last blog post! from now on i guess i pretty much won't ever update unless i upload a video and want to put most of the words that would've gone into the video description somewhere else. like what i used to do using pastebin.
anyway. it is january 18th, 2026. that's the date i'm writing this post. but it won't be visible until april 13th. it's been over a year since i last did any homestuck music stuff. you can take the man out of the homestuck, but you can't take the homestuck out of the man!
the past year-and-some-change i've been doing a decent amount of live music stuff. i've gained a lot of experience, and my musical mind has been developing with all the busking, playing at jazz jam sessions, performing live shows, and other music shit. been playing a lot of piano and keyboards. putting together my own synth patches too. been drumming a lot as well, at those jazz jam sessions. haven't really been building my skills with guitar that much, but that's fine. guitar was always a secondary pursuit for me. i hope you can hear all this development reflected in my play. i like how this little piano arrangement turned out, and i think it's a step in a new (but not entirely new) direction for me. a good direction, to be sure. i hope to release more solo piano stuff going forward. especially because this grand piano plugin i've now got my hands on sounds so damn good. shoutouts to my bandmate wei for that one.
be on the lookout for more music videos here on this channel. i've been working on a crap ton of stuff. original music, arrangements of other people's music, hilarious and awesome videos of other stuff that's tangentially music-related, and more. but it's slow going because of life. i kinda sorta want to quit my job so i can dedicate all my time to these creative pursuits. but then i'd starve to death! lol. also, check out my band, petty tactic. we just recently formed. it was me and a bunch of the magwest people from the bay area. we play a lot of j-rock and j-pop. i'm trying to get them to play some of my originals. if you come to the SF bay area, who knows? maybe one day, you'll hear us playing 'I Warned You About Stairs!!!!!!!!', live.
