This is the first post. Woooooooo!

I had really bad abdominal pain the night of October 23rd as I was putting together the announcement video. What is it with me and getting screwed over by health issues whenever I try to release a video?

Anyway. Lemme talk about the album, I Warned You About Stairs. I’ve been making Homestucky music on YouTube for like 6-7 years. I’ve made a bunch of covers, some remixes, and some original compositions where I borrow a Homestuck melody or quote a Homestuck song somewhere in the mix. But I’ve never released a long-ish piece of work. That’s what I’m planning to do here.

My old Homestucky music will make up the bulk of I Warned You About Stairs. I have long felt that my old Homestuck tunes needed to be mixed and mastered better, so I will remaster all of them tunes before I slap them on this album. Then, to round the album out, I am planning to put a few new tunes in as well. These tunes are unreleased! Because I haven’t composed them yet. Lol. I’ll probably unveil the new tunes kinda early over the course of the next year as videos, the same way I’ve always done, and then drop the whole album near the end of the year.

random thoughts

Here’s what I need to do:

• remaster most of my old HS stuff (from Doctor Remix all the way up through Mother, that’s like 7 tracks? 8? idk)
• compose some new ones (i’m shooting for 3)
• mix and master everything so it sounds good together
• get someone to draw some beautiful album art
• release the new tunes as videos
• release the whole thing on Bandcamp + streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)
• make tons of money

I’ve got my work cut out for me. I kinda set this all up for myself without knowing how it would go. Did I set my expectations too high? Will it all backfire? I hope not. I don’t know how long it will take. I also don’t know if I’ll be able to keep my motivation up throughout the whole process. I’ll just try my hardest and see how it goes.
