Happy 10/25! By now, the announcement video should be up. I’d like to talk a little bit about it, if that’s alright with you. Well of course it is. Otherwise you’d’ve stopped reading.

As you know, I’ve been spending the last year learning how to play the electric guitar. I’m still not great at it, but I feel like I’ve been making a lot of progress. There will definitely be a lot of electric guitar in the new tracks on the album. That high note I played at 1:53 was a pinch harmonic. It’s always been kinda hard for me to hit those, but I somehow nailed it on my first recording attempt. Go me.

Jared isn’t real, nor is he supposed to be real. Any similarities between Jared and any persons, living or dead, real or fictitious, is strictly coincidental. Well, actually, maybe Jared is sort of based on a real person/people. Whenever I talk to this particular person/group of people, I get the sense that they don’t view me as a whole, complete, consummate musician, because most of my musical work is covers and remixes, and I’ve not composed much of my own stuff. The thing is, though, I have always planned on composing and releasing my own shit. Just haven’t had the will to do it recently. I know I’ll get to it eventually.

It was fun to record myself talking to myself. Very silly, but loads of fun. Before filming, I was wondering how the hell I was gonna do the part where one me puts his finger on the other me’s lips to shut him up. Then I just started filming and made it work.
